Before heading out on new trips, I need to catch up on some old ones. In August of 2011, we headed to South Carolina for a little over a week.
Our first stop was in Asheville, NC at a beautiful site named Campfire Lodgings. I’d love to come back during the fall and see the trees all changing..
We had reservations out East, so we could only stay one night. At a gas station, I saw this deserted parking lot and snapped a quick shot:
The next day, we stumbled upon this amazing ruin of Old Sheldon Prince William’s Parish Church. Even though a lot of people know about the location, it was such an adventure for us to be driving along and find it on our own. That’s definitely part of the allure for our Airstream purchases.
Finally, we made it to one of our favorite places, Hunting Island State Park, where we stayed several nights.Since I’m just catching up on trips, I’ll spare the details, but you may enjoy some photos:
